APRA Issues Third Generation of www.AutoElectricPro.Com
APRA officially launched the 3rd generation of our revolutionary electrical wiring diagram website www.AutoElectricPro.com. “AutoElectricPro was originally developed with remanufacturers, rebuilders, auto electric shops and transmission rebuilding shops in mind,” stated APRA President, Bill Gager.

Mark Kothe, APRA’s Technical Director added, “This third generation site now contains 124,056 wiring diagrams (up from 98,547 in 2nd version) for over 6,227 vehicle applications (up from 5,901) from 1985-2007 and is powered by information from Mitchell 1.”

Gager added, “With all the different types of electronics on today’s vehicles, there are many times when proper diagnostics is difficult. AutoElectricPro helps APRA members save time and money by cutting down on the necessary research time to solve the problem(s) and satisfy their customers.”

“I use AutoElectricPro when I get calls from my garage customers who have problems with charging or starting systems,” commented Mohammad Samii, owner of Sammy’s Auto-Electric Service, Inc. in Champaign, Illinois. “Once I have the schematic open on my computer I can guide my customers with confidence. Together we can go over the system and I can help them figure out if they have something that isn’t wired correctly. This added value to my service is the difference between me and my competition. I highly recommend AutoElectricPro.”

Special subscriber rates to www.AutoElectricPro.com are $325 per year or $30 per month to APRA members. Visit the website for a free 30-day trial of the service. APRA President Bill Gager, concluded, “After your 30-day free trial you’ll quickly realize that this is a service you can’t live without.”
APRA Releases Remanufacturing Book
During the 2008 APRA European Symposium and Exhibition in Warsaw, Fernand Weiland, Chairman of APRA’s Electronics & Mechatronics Division, presented his new book, Remanufacturing Automotive Mechatronics & Electronics.

Weiland organized and edited this book to inform the remanufacturing community on the upcoming product changes and encourage them to embrace these new technologies. Weiland stated, “These changes are not a threat but an opportunity.”

“After outlining the key challenges, this book presents new technologies and opportunities mainly in the field of remanufacturing automotive electronics, profiting from the pioneering spirit and expertise of a handful of innovative personalities around the globe…” (Prof. Rolf Steinhilper, Preface).

Sections of the book include:

• “Selected and Applied Test and Diagnosis Methods for Remanufacturing Automotive Mechatronics and Electronics,” by Stefan Freiberger, University Bayreuth

• “Sustainable Development by Reusing Used Automotive Electronics,” by Fernand Weiland, FJW Consulting

• “Remanufacturing of Mechatronic and Electronic Modules for Transportation Vehicles – Challenges and Opportunities,” by Rex Vandenberg, Injectronics Australia Pty Ltd

• “Research of Internet & Scientific Databases on Reusing and Inspection of Used Electronics” by Fernand Weiland, FJW Consulting
