APRA Member William Schwarck Launches New Remanufacturing Magazine

February 9, 2017 - A new web-based magazine focused on automotive and heavy duty remanufacturing was launched in January. Created by Honorary Life Member of APRA, William Schwarck, the Reman World Magazine and associated web-site and services for remanufacturers has the aim of providing news, views and information for remanufacturers around the world, with special emphasis on Europe and Asia.
An attendee of APRA’s Big R exhibitions for many years, Schwarck served as Editor-in-Chief of ReMatecNews magazine from 2001 until 2016, during which time the magazine gained recognition as a premier source of information about automotive and heavy duty remanufacturing. In 2005, William launched the annual Remanufacturer of the Year Award, serving as Chairman of the Award Committee until last year, when he parted ways with RAI Amsterdam, the owners of ReMatecNews and temporary co-owner of ReMatecUSA (with APRA). Over the years, his articles have appeared occasionally in APRA’s Global Connection magazine (now Reman Connection).
“Remanufacturers across the world deserve a publication that serves their needs in terms of information, news and general communications,” Schwarck said. “Reman World is intended to meet those needs. There has never been a better time for promoting the benefits of remanufacturing, with so many different initiatives being rolled out in Europe, Asia and North America. Reman World will follow these closely as well as reporting on companies and the people, that influence them.”
A former newspaper editor who has travelled the world extensively, Schwarck has reported from more than 130 countries on five continents as a journalist.
Reman World has appointed Massachusetts-based Niels Christiansen US Editor, tasked with reporting on remanufacturing in North and South America.
